Merck KGaA Pilots Cocoa Traceability On Hedera

Merck KGaA, The Hashgraph Group, and PwC Germany are piloting a cocoa traceability system that records physical authentication scans on Hedera to support EU deforestation regulations. The project ties M-Trust security markers to TrackTrace on Hedera, enabling a verifiable digital history from raw materials to finished product. The pilot aligns with Regulation (EU) 2023/1115 timelines, with potential expansion to broader Digital Product Passports under ESPR and enterprise-scale deployment considerations.
