Hedera unveils Agent Accounts enabling AI agents to transact autonomously on-chain without private keys. Agents operate under smart-contract-enforced budgets, daily limits, per-transaction caps, and authorized recipient lists, with payments in HBAR, USDC, and other tokens. The system uses Consensus Service for verifiable history and integrates via MCP/API for tools like ChatGPT. Governance includes revocation/suspension from owners. Testing planned Q4 2025, public testnet Q1 2026, mainnet target Q2 2026 pending security and regulatory clearances.
