Hedera Cancels Nov. 4 Testnet Upgrade to v0.79 Without New Date
November 4, 2026 at 9:52 AM UTC•3 hours ago
Hedera canceled its planned Nov. 4 testnet upgrade to v0.79, leaving no rescheduled date and delaying testing ahead of mainnet release. The decision affects developers who rely on testnet to validate apps before deploying on mainnet. Testnet remains on v0.78.0 while mainnet sits at v0.78.2 as of Nov. 4. Hedera’s native token HBAR also moved lower, dropping 8.5% over recent days, though causation to the cancellation isn’t established.
