Australia’s Central Bank Deploys CBDC Directly Unto XRP Ledger and Hedera

Australia’s RBA completed a hands-on CBDC pilot (Project Acacia), deploying a wholesale CBDC across multiple ledgers, including XRP Ledger and Hedera. The test covered end-to-end bond lifecycle on XRPL with RLUSD settlement and token interchange on Hedera via AP+ using private and public networks. This marks a significant validation of Hedera’s and XRP Ledger’s suitability for institutional settlement, ISO 20022 compliance, and real-world wholesale market readiness.
