Australia’s Central Bank Deploys CBDC Directly Unto XRP Ledger and Hedera

Australia’s RBA and DFCRC completed Project Acacia, running a real wholesale CBDC (wCBDC) across multiple networks, including Hedera and XRP Ledger. The pilot tested government and corporate bond life cycles, asset-backed securities, and tokenized assets with RLUSD settlement. Hedera enabled token interchange at scale between private and public networks, using smart contracts for interchanges. This marks a significant institutional validation of Hedera and XRP Ledger for wholesale settlement and ISO 20022 compliance.
